FINALLY! & Stripes!

HELLOO!! I'm finally back. I've been absent for what feels like a lifetime. My laptop charger totally died, I was wiggling the wire for a while to charge my laptop but it eventually gave up and I had to splurge on a new laptop. I have a macbook pro so went to the apple shop to price up chargers..£65! Outrageous! Fortunately, I'm a mega eBay user so I managed to find a genuine apple charger for £30 from a shop local to Liverpool. So here I am, £30 poorer but happy that I'm back to blogging. Over the past week or two I've managed to do quite a fair bit of nail art so hopefully that should keep me going for a while :)

To the nail art..! I recently purchased a lovely, snug cardy and I thought 'Hey, why not match my nails to my new, lovely, snug cardy?' So thats exactly what I did. I got part of the inspiration (unintentionally, until after I did this and was looking through the blog and realised I must have mentally-noted this awesome mani!) from the Nailasaurus here.
I did two coats of Fortune Teller - George at Asda and added stripes of Damson - Technic and Blue Plum - Barry M (part of the Gellies range, more on these bad boys later!). I also went over some of the Damson stripes with Party Pink - Technic. All topped with a coat of Seche Vite.
And here's a picture of my inspiration!

Essie Power Clutch and Models Own Pink Fizz Heart

Hello people! In classic British fashion, I love a good bargain. So I was loving life when I found Essie Power Clutch in TJ Hughes for just £2.99. OH MY! This is a really lovely shade of grey and as with all Essie polishes, has a really nice formula.
Today's mani was 2 coats of Essie Power Clutch. Once it was fully dry I used tape to create the stripes on my middle finger with Barry M Matte White. I then used Barry M Baby Pink for the heart detail and index finger and covered that with Models Own Pink Fizz. I'm really not a girly-girl so this is a nice change from the usual nail art I'm used to.

Oh, and my pinky is growing back well :)

Max Factor - Fantasy Fire and Intense Plum

I know way back in the beginning of the year there was mega hype over Max Factor's Fantasy Fire. Naturally, at the time, I bought it like so many other nail lovers. This polish is almost a dupe for the long discontinued gems Clarins 230 (Unicorn Pee), which would be way out of my price range even if it was still available!

Fantasy Fire is a multichrome shimmer which shifts from red to copper to gold to green in different lights and it's ah-mazing! Turns any polish into shimmery glimmery awesomeness. I couldn't stop looking at my nails for a long time after I got this polish. This swatch is over 2 coats of Max Factor - Intense Plum, which I recently bought and is what prompted this post. I'm kicking myself I didn't take pictures of the polish alone, it's so yummy. I'll edit it them in later when I next wear the polish :) And I finished with a coat of NYC In a New York Minute.

Oh, and I'm a sad bunny today. My pinky nail broke! Look how sad it looks, all short and whatnot! I was going to take the pictures using my right hand but she is very camera shy. This has become more wordy than I intended so I'll just crack on with the pictures..

Reverse Half Moons

I'M BACK!! I finally got my charger working, can I get a woop woop?! Oh how I've missed blogging. Seriously, felt like I'd lost a limb!
This is a mani I did for my first day on my masters course. I'd never done a reverse half moon but I really like how it turned out. This is one coat of Barry M Gold Foil and then two coats of strategically placed A-Engand St George (obsessed with this polish!) and I placed some Hex Glitters for a simple accent. I finished it with two coats of NYC In A New York Minute. I really like the colour combination on this one.

Laptop down!

Hey guys!

I don't know how it happened but my laptop charger has broken and so I'm unable to upload any posts as yet, hopefully I'll have it fixed by the weekend when I'll be able to continue with my posting! Thought I'd let you know that I'm not ignoring you :) x

Ladybirds!

Something fun today. LADYBIRDS! I'm trying to hold onto summer for as long as physically possible. I HATE the cold. HateHateHate. This is definitely summer on my nails.
I used two coats of an unnamed The Colour Workshop red and used black and white acrylic paint with a dotting tool and striper brush for the details. And topped it with two coats of NYC In A New York Minute.

Annnnd one with a cute little butterfly from my back garden, just for fun :)
