Polish Days: BLINGnails

I'm so excited! This is my first ever polish days. If you havn't heard of Polish Days, it's an organised monthly posting event where Hannah from Polly Polish creates a theme and subscribed bloggers sync their themed posts to be posted at the same time. You can subscribe here.

Today's theme is BLING nails in honour of the coming party season. I really think this is quite a festive mani aswel...great for the christmas parties!
I used two coats of Technic - Damson and used a cosmetic sponge to create a glitter gradient with Technic - Carnival. I finished with Seche Vite.
It's a simple mani but I absolutely love the finished result. It's just the right amount of bling for me.

Take a look at all the participating bloggers and their wonderfully blingy designs that'll make Beyoncé proud!

Abstract Nails!

I'm really excited about showing you these nails. They were really fun to make and I love the outcome. This was one of them designs that sort of took shape as I started using the paint brush.

I used one coat of Barry M - Matt White and freehanded the designs with a striping brush using Revlon - Tropical Temptation, Barry M - Shocking Pink, Barry M - Cyan Blue, Technic - Lolli Pop, MUA - Shade 5, Rimmel - Lemon Drop and W7 - Black. I also used a dotting tool for the dots and finished with a coat of Seche Vite.

Have you noticed that I've figured out the sizing issues with my images and my cuticles are a lot better? Vaseline and cotton gloves to bed! Who knew?!

EDIT: These nails featured in Reader Nail Art Week - Day 5 of The Daily Nail!!
I'M TOO EXCITED TO BE ON HER BLOG!!

FINALLY! & Stripes!

HELLOO!! I'm finally back. I've been absent for what feels like a lifetime. My laptop charger totally died, I was wiggling the wire for a while to charge my laptop but it eventually gave up and I had to splurge on a new laptop. I have a macbook pro so went to the apple shop to price up chargers..£65! Outrageous! Fortunately, I'm a mega eBay user so I managed to find a genuine apple charger for £30 from a shop local to Liverpool. So here I am, £30 poorer but happy that I'm back to blogging. Over the past week or two I've managed to do quite a fair bit of nail art so hopefully that should keep me going for a while :)

To the nail art..! I recently purchased a lovely, snug cardy and I thought 'Hey, why not match my nails to my new, lovely, snug cardy?' So thats exactly what I did. I got part of the inspiration (unintentionally, until after I did this and was looking through the blog and realised I must have mentally-noted this awesome mani!) from the Nailasaurus here.
I did two coats of Fortune Teller - George at Asda and added stripes of Damson - Technic and Blue Plum - Barry M (part of the Gellies range, more on these bad boys later!). I also went over some of the Damson stripes with Party Pink - Technic. All topped with a coat of Seche Vite.
And here's a picture of my inspiration!

Under the sea!

Gradients - so easy to achieve and looks amazing. I had several comments of 'Wow, I love your nails!' while I sported this look. Mr D said they look like they came from under the sea!
I created the gradient following this tutorial by The Nailasaurus (much love for Sammy's mad skillz!) using Collection 2000 Cloud Nine and added the fade with Technic Pacific Blue. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite.

I'm a little miffed that some of my gradient lines are wonky and not really a smooth transition, my thumb and index finger mainly. This is only my second attempt at gradients but practice makes perfect I suppose :)
