Sally Hansen Fairy Teal and Green Tea mix

Here is a skittle using Sally Hansen Fairy Teal and Green Tea. It's almost like these colours where made for each other. The Nailasaurus has also done a great mani with these colours too.
I did two coats of Green Tea on all nails except my index finger, for which I used two coats of Fairy Teal. I used striping tape on my thumb to mark off the areas I wanted Green Tea to be visible and painted over with Fairy Teal. I quickly removed the tape and added mini beads in gold. I did a gradient on my middle finger using a cosmetic sponge. The ring finger is a kind of 'spun polish' look using both Green Tea, Fairy Teal and Sally Hansen Crinoline. All fingers were topped with Seche Vite.

The nails all the bad girls want..

Here is mix and match punk rock mani using using purple colours. I wore these with a matching top and leather jacket. Very punk-rock!
Thumb: Sally Hansen - Anemone of Mine with mini studs
Index finger: Nail Pop - Glamrock
Middle finger: Sally Hansen - Anemone of Mine and W7 - Black gradient
Ring finger: Sally Hansen - Anemone of Mine with mini beads and black and white gems
Pinky: Seventeen - Hard as Nails Black
All topped with a coat of Seche Vite.
I love how these turned out. It's such a shame I'm a picker when it comes to 3D nail art, these type of manicures never last more than a day!

St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patricks Day everyone.
Paddy's day is massive in Liverpool as we have such a large community of Irish. Every year the celebrations are incredible. If you're looking for a night out in the UK for Paddy's day, and you can't get over to Ireland, I definitely recommend Liverpool!
This mani used A-England - St George, Barry M - Ridley Road, Sally Hansen - Fairy Teal, Sally Hansen - Green Tea and George at Asda - Mermaid. I used striping tape on my index finger to create the lines. On the fingers that I used glitter on I first put a layer of PVA glue as a base coat to make the removal of the glitter easier. All topped with a coat of Seche Vite.

17 Rock Hard Nail Effects: Textured Nails Review

This past couple of months has seen an expolsion of textured nail polish's hit the nail blogging community. I personally love the look and from the swatches I've seen I think Nails Inc -Leather Effect is incredible. Leather on my nails? Oh, go on then. Nails Inc knows me too well. However, at £19 a pop (although you do get some skull nail decorations in the set...very tempting) it's a little steep on the price range.
With that in mind I give you Rock Hard Nail Effects by Seventeen, a Boots own brand. This collection claims to give you Matt finish 'gritty' textured nails in two coats. And for only £3.99 each that's a lot more purse friendly to me! At the minute Boots have an offer on all Seventeen cosmetics; buy one get one half price. Bargain.

Here is Black and Grey from this collection.

Black

To me this could almost be a dupe for Nails Inc - Leather Effect. I realise there are differences in the shine and 'grittyness' but from afar, would you really be able to tell the difference? I absolutely love this polish. It's perfect for leather-jacket-wearing type girls such as myself. Application was great and it was opaque in two coats.

Thank you to my sister!

My sister, Clare, is a little legend. She has made me a new blog header and I absolutely love it. We have just spend a couple of hours each creating it; me painting my nails and her photographing them and editing the image.

What do you guys think of it? Incredible, right?

Polish Days: Vintage

This month's Polish Days theme is Vintage. When I think of vintage I automatically think of pearls, lace and subtle colours.  I don't know about all the other Polish Days participants but I really struggled with this theme; I did three mani's before settling on this one. It's simple and subtle and reminds me of a really classy lady.
For this I used three coats of Sally Hansen Dorian Grey. I then added a coat of Seche Vite to each nail and while this was still tacky on my ring finger and thumb I used an orange stick to add little nail art pearls, gems and beads from a Nail Art Kit that I got from River Island.

Seven Days of Sally Hansen: Day 7 - Anemone of Mine

Last but certainly not least in the Seven Days of Sally Hansen, is Anemone of Mine.
The colours on my pictures are somewhat not exact, its a lovely warm purple in natural light. I guess my spot light just didn't like the colour. Regardless, whatever way you look at it, it's a lovely colour. And opaque in one coat, although I used two here. It's also a little nasty on the staining so be sure to use a base coat!

Seven Days of Sally Hansen: Day 6 - Fairy Teal

Contain yourselves ladies. It's Fairy Teal *swoon*

I've been lusting after this colour for absolutely ages. I don't think I've done the colour much justice in my pictures but this is a gorgeous teal creme and was opaque in two coats. As the CSM collection supposidly includes a base coat, you would think that you shouldn't need a base coat with this colour. Wrong. If you're going to use this colour, wear a base coat!! Nonetheless, it's an incredible colour and I love it!

Seven Days of Sally Hansen: Day 5 - Green Tea

Hello dolls. I'm back with day 5 of my Seven days of Sally Hansen feature. This little stunner is Green Tea.
This is the perfect mint green and I don't have anything like it in my collection so this is a real winner and definitely one of my favorites of the CSM collection. This colour is perfect for the upcoming spring time and is really refreshing. This is two easily applied coats.

Seven Days of Sally Hansen: Day 2 - Lavender Cloud

Here is day two of my Sally Hansen Swatch week. This little beauty is Lavender Cloud

Like Crinoline, this is off-white but with just a hint of lavender this time. It is almost impossible to capture that slight hint of colour and so my pictures don't do it justice. This is three coats as I found two didn't give it enough opacity and left it a little streaky.

Seven Days of Sally Hansen: Day 1 - Crinoline

Hi ladies, I'm back and I'm back with a vegance!

You may have noticed on a lot of blogs lately that people have been finding high branded polishes in Poundland. Yes, thats right, the shop were everything is £1! Over the past couple of months I've been heading into Poundland and TJ Hughes every time I've been to town and I've managed to get my hands on a fair few Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes.
This range claims to be a 5-in-1 fix for the on-the-go woman. That is a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, colour and top coat. What more could a girl want?
I have that many now that I have decieded to do a Seven Days of Sally Hansen week!

First up we have the lovely Crinoline. This is a lovely pinkish off-white. I reckon this will be perfect with most skin tones. It's so fresh and elegant. Application is perfect and the wide brush is my new favourite! This is three easy coats. Top coat not necassary!

MUA Fur Effect Nails: Fluff and Cuddles Review

MUA are an amazingly cheap brand here in the UK. Originally all their products were £1. Absolute bargain! You can still get alot of their basic products for £1 but the rest of the range has gone a little more upmarket. They've recently bought out a new range of Fur-Effect nail felt, usually priced at £3 but are currently only £2 in Superdrug!! I've never tried the felt look before, I was previously against even trying it because I really didn't think I'd like the feel of them. How wrong was I?!

This is Fluff and Cuddles over Max Factor - Intense Plum.

Del Sol - Trick or Treat

My sister works on the cruise ships. She recently came back from 6 months away and got me an awesome nail polish! Del Sol is a brand of colour-changing goodness originally from Utah. This particular polish is Trick or Treat - an awesome orange micro glitter that changes to black in the sun. Unfortunately, here in the UK we've had a lack of sun for a while! So at the minute, I'm showing you this polish as it comes with no sun. Clearly this polish was meant for Halloween but it's still pretty epic all year round!
I used a base coat of Collection 2000 - Cloud Nine and sponged on Del Sol - Trick or Treat. On my ring finger I did three coats of the glitter. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite.

Matching jumper and nails!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you've all had a wonderful festive season! I took a little time out from blogging to spend time with my family and friends and generally chill out during my time off from uni. It's been great but I've definitely missed blogging. For christmas I got a kind-of-christmas jumper off my boyfriend. I love matching my nails to my outfits so this is exactly that.

I used Barry M - Blue Plum, Nails Inc - St James and Essie - Ballet Slipper for this look. I created the zig zag with a striper brush and finished with a coat of Seche Vite.
